UPDATE:

I have been feeling rather blah, and have been sick on top of it, but this weekend I think I may have gotten some of my momentum back. I started making some Christmas decorations. Everything here Christmas-y is shiny and bright and oddly enough noisy. I found this beautiful little project and have made mine with one section of dark pink. I'm really happy with how they look and even though I had planned to put up decorations next weekend, these got the better of my and they are up now. There is a pipe that runs from the veranda into the house through the living room and I have hung them up there. And I love them.

I have been lucky enough to convince one of my co-workers to have a Christmas party with me. I am planning the food and she's doing Christmas decorations and I think it's going to be very fun! The menu is going to be simple and vegetarian, well, excluding the meat. The plan so far is roast chicken, stuffing, cranberries, and some sort of potato side dish that doesn't need to be served hot. (any ideas??) Oh, and then dessert. We are hoping to have a little pot-luck action as well because, well, with the limited kitchen situation, I can't do much more.

And just when I was feeling very settled and happy at work, all the big changes happen. Again. In the kind of school I work in, there really aren't any opportunities for vacations. When a person needs a break they just quit their job, take a vacation, and then get another job. My new boss, the one we just got 3 months ago, is leaving at the end of the month. I really like her and she has been really fantastic to work with. We got off to a bit of a rocky start, but I have really grown to like her. She was explaining this to me on Friday, and then she told me that one of the other teachers, who has been with us for maybe 4 months, is leaving as well. I am not looking forward to this change because we won't have a liaison between the director and the foreign teachers because for now the director will be our new boss. I like him and he is easy to work for, but I can't imagine him trying to do his job as well as managing the teachers. I'm going to enjoy the next week and a half because after that, the schedule is going to get hectic.

I have to go deal with the laundry and the chicken stock. Momentum here I come!

You have convinced me to make those ornaments, too. Maybe they should be gifted for someone special as well, but I don't know who yet.
