A Clear Leading

Tonight I was able to attend a 2 act one man play about the issue of human slavery in the 1700s in the United States as seen through the eyes of a young John Woolmen, written and preformed by Rich Swingle. I was pleasantly surprised by how high the quality was, and at the end Swingle stayed in character to answer questions. The story is really stunning, he decided he was against enslavement of people and it chronicels how he firmed up his ideas and then spoke out about it especially in Quaker circles. In the end he helped in developing an understanding in which owning slaves became imposible among Quakers. He MADE a huge difference. Look up John Woolmen if you get a minuet.
