the best way I can think of to explain Korea is that it's like a cross between the USA and Mexico. South Korea has drastically changed since the 1960s and they are a modern country. But they also don't have snowplows and instead men with shovels and pick axes clear the streets in my neighborhood. To the American mind, common sense is lacking. Working with the students, I have realized that it's not how the kids think, either. It's a learning time for me, learning how to understand the children.
