fermintation cupboard

there is a scary cupboard in the basement in what was the original kitchen of this house, before the ground floor and loft were added. The man who built it lived here and built it in stages. When I started my first batch of kombucha here I put it in that cupboard because I knew no one would find it and mess with it. (The electrician found it, though.) I also have a few jars of my mom's apple butter in there, and I started a sourdough and decided to keep it in there for the week or so it needs to ferment.
