paying my dues

so over the summer before I visited the Jet Setters, I started making lace weight yarn for a shawl that I planned to take on the trip and work on/finish. It was a much bigger project than I realized, but yesterday I just wound the last hank of yarn. I put the thing on a lifeline and am happy with how it's turning out. It's much bigger than I thought because it's so scrunched up when I'm working on it, and the yarn is so fine there isn't much bulk to it. It's warm, too, I am always surprised that when I put it down how cool my lap gets. Slow and steady wins the race.
