natural patina

I love the way things wear. Over time things break down. I used to not like that and wanted things to remain perfect forever, but wear and tear is what gives personality. I burnt a spot in my hand knit sweater the other day in the studio, and I was amazed at how un-upset I was. For 2 reasons, because I think wear and tear is interesting, and because I know I can repair it, which is also crucial to the process.
