So long, Manzinita

This afternoon I will be driving away from the coast. I have had such a wonderful time here. I ate a lot, which is always true, walked on the beech, laughed, and didn't worry. When I get home I will begin the fall of fitness, as the summer is almost over, and it was interrupted by butter and early mornings. I will make poolish. I will have to find a recipe that doesn't start with 32 cups of flour! I will make a brioche for my mother next week, and I will start school. The end of an epic project is met with the beginning of another. I made a list just as school ended of all the things I hoped to do over my summer vacation, and I didn't accomplish many of my goals. I'm not at all upset because I baked bread at the beach.
