Tonight the closing film for my documentary workshop was Trouble the Water. The woman in the film, Kimberly Rivers Roberts, is what I'm talking about when I talk about the recession and how we should act. She was trapped in New Orleans during Katrina. She documented her time using a cam corder, and she demonstrates piles of love for those around her. She and her husband Scott help their elderly neighbors as well as children and other adults during the storm. Kimberly has food and encouraging words while Scott floats people one at a time on a large punching bag to higher ground. They stick together and eventually rent a truck to get to Kimberly's cousin's house and from there to Memphis. Their group is now down to just 3, as they have made sure every one in their party made it somewhere safe. Kimberly and Scott lost a lot, but from watching them, I think it's safe to say they gained more. Kimberly Rivers, AKA Black Kold Madina made a difference. What did you make?
