tonight

tonight is corn bread and beans. For several reasons. Also the corn bread is from scratch, the beans are not. They will be soon, though. The reasons are these: It's fast and I am tired. School is coming to a close, but I think it's going out with a bang. I do feel a sense of accomplishment, though, as I check each item off the list. I guess I should make a list, it really is more satisfying on paper.
Also, this recession etc is really making me think. This next part is a secret: the recession isn't as bad as you think. It's sort of an adventure. Yes, yes, it's shitty to lose your job and your house. But this is a time for us to band together and love each other. It's a time to eat cheap wholesome foods. My friend Keren told me that the best food comes out of empty cupboards. So hooray for beans and cornbread. I'm going to try to praise the Lord in this time of fear and economic oppression. Join me.
